In 1904, Dreamland’s central tower reshaped the Coney Island landscape, illuminated by the extraordinary one million lights that framed the amusement park’s other structures. The lights shone so brightly that they beckoned visitors from around the globe and all walks of life. And while Dreamland may stand no more, the promises of its radiance — excitement, escapism, unadulterated joy — still define the neighborhood today.

Our Fall 2021 fundraiser — A Million Lights for Tomorrow — celebrates Coney Island’s luminous past while looking toward its shining future. Join us virtually and help ensure that the light of this special place continues to sparkle for another hundred years and beyond. Hosted by Adam Realman, the dazzling evening will feature Neil Patrick Harris making a special announcement about his involvement in a new Coney Island Museum project; master storyteller Todd Robbins recounting the famed Girl-to-Gorilla sideshow act; never-before-seen items and ephemera from the Museum’s permanent collection; performances and appearances by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band; Matt Tolentino; Michael Imperioli; Gilbert Gottfried; historian John Parascandola; and much more.

An online silent auction benefiting the Coney Island Museum is now live and offers the chance to bid on a long list of items and experiences such as four VIP passes to the Nathan’s 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest; a signed copy of Bob Gruen’s autobiography AND one of his iconic photos of Debbie Harry in Coney Island; tickets to and a first pitch toss-out at a Brooklyn Cyclones game; and original artworks by Philomena Marano, Johnny Lowe, Sarah Beetson, John Huntington, Norman Blake, and more.

Our host Adam Realman will be announcing the auction winners live during the event’s broadcast, and our streaming platform allows for guest engagement and real-time interaction! We’ll also be sending exclusive thank-you gifts to everyone who makes a donation, including limited edition Girl-to-Gorilla tees and totes and Freak Show beanies.

Tickets to view the event are $5.

We look forward to sharing this exciting event with you as we celebrate the Coney Island Museum!
